What is Bakelite jewelry?

Bakelite is an early form of plastic popular from the 1920s to the 1950s, often used in vintage costume jewelry. It is known for its durability, vibrant colors, and carved designs.

Are these Bakelite earrings genuine?

Yes, these earrings are genuine vintage Bakelite, tested to ensure authenticity and not fake-a-lite.

What size are the earrings in this lot?

The smaller dark cranberry pair measures approximately 3/8 inch across, while the other two pairs measure about 1/2 inch across.

What does 'gold filled posts' mean on these earrings?

Gold filled posts mean the earring posts are made by bonding a layer of gold to a base metal, providing durability and a gold appearance without the cost of solid gold.

Are these earrings new or used?

These earrings are vintage and never worn, still on their original Tempo cards, though the dark mustard pair has a few edge nips.

Why might the colors look different on my screen?

Bakelite colors can vary in appearance depending on computer monitor settings, so the actual colors may look slightly different in person.
