Vintage Wood Tuning Pegs Lot Ebony?

Lot of vintage wooden tuning pegs. Sorry I do not know a thing about them. Can be ebony? Not sure what they were from or the age. I really have no idea. They measure approx 2 1/2" long. Two have mother of pearl small inlays at the top.

I think this would make a lovely necklace or pendant. They do of course have drill holes as you can see.
