WWII USS Medusa US Navy Donald Duck Flat Cap Hat Pearl Harbor? Military Collectibles RARE?
$125.00
WWII USS Medusa wool US Navy wool flat cap or "Donald Duck hat". The tag on the inside reads sz. 6 7/8 and the other tag reads WRA Code Manufactured Under Cap Code. A little wear to some of the letters on the cap tally. (band). The side of the tally is a tied bow and the bow ends have a little fraying on their edges and has been folded for years..
The interior has a black satin lining with a tan leather sweat band that is tied at the back with a white bow. This band and the bow has some staining. The moisture shield in the top of the hat is missing. There is also "15-" written in ink on the interior band. No holes in the wool and the wool is in gorgeous shape.
Not sure if this cap was present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor or not. I am also not sure how rare it is. I wish I knew more about this piece. Any info would be appreciated!
A little info on the Medussa from the net:
